On December 11, 2025, H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, met with Mr. Ronald Theodore, CEO for Grenada Investment Development Corporation(GIDC). The two sides had an in-depth exchange on promoting trade and investment facilitation between China and Grenada.

Ambassador Yang said that the current world economy is facing challenges and uncertainties. However, the volume of trade and investment between China and countries along the Belt and Road Initiative has continued to grow. Although Grenada is a small island developing country with a small market size, it still offers opportunities that Chinese entrepreneurs are eager to explore and participate in. The Chinese Embassy in Grenada is committed to playing a bridging role in promoting trade and investment cooperation between China and Grenada. This partnership reflects the shared commitment to unleashing innovation potential and accelerating industrial upgrading through close cooperation, and consolidates the friendly relations between the two countries.

Mr. Theodore expressed his gratitude for China’s long-term support. He said that GIDC is willing to share information and deepen cooperation in key areas such as capacity building and innovation. He looks forward to cooperating with Chinese enterprises in areas such as exchanges and training, technical expertise, and investment and financing, supporting the establishment and expansion of small and medium-sized enterprises, and injecting new impetus into Grenada’s economic development.
