On June 24, 2025, H.E. Wei Hongtian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, accompanied H.E. Dame Cécile La Grenade, Governor General of Grenada on a visit to the China-Grenada Agricultural Technical Cooperation Project (Phase 8) based at the La Sagesse Agricultural Demonstration Center in St. David. 

They listened to comprehensive introduction from the Chinese agricultural experts, inspected the seedlings culture, the smart greenhouse,  the growth of crops, and exchanged views on the next phase of cooperation.

Ambassador Wei reviewed friendly relations and practical cooperation between China and Grenada over the past two decades as a whole, and the eight consecutive phases of China-Grenada Agricultural Technical Cooperation Projects in particular, pointing out that the cooperation has contributed greatly to the agricultural development of Grenada and the bilateral relations as well. He reaffirmed that China is committed to continuing its assistance and support to Grenada in various sectors, deepening cooperation and friendship between the two countries.

Governor General Dame Cécile La Grenade expressed her gratitude to the Chinese government for its long-term generous assistance and the Chinese agricultural experts for their professional skills, hard work and contributions to improving agricultural technology and farmer’s income in Grenada. She emphasizes that the agricultural project enjoys high popularity and has a significant socioeconomic impact in Grenada. She looks forward to more cooperation results between the two countries in various fields including agriculture.
