Ambassador Wei Hongtian attended the Commencement Ceremony of China-Aided Renovation Project of the Grenada National Cricket Stadium
On February 27, 2024, Ambassador Wei Hongtian attended the Commencement Ceremony of China-Aided Renovation Project of the Grenada National Cricket Stadium together with Hon. Andy Williams, Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Mobilisation, Implementation and Transformation, Senator the Hon. Gayton J. LaCrette, Minister for Youth and Sports and delivered speeches.
Ambassador Wei indicated that the Cricket Stadium is the largest sports facility in Grenada and a symbol of friendship between China and Grenada. He reiterated that China will continue to provide assistance and support to Grenada, and China is willing to further enhance the friendly relations and practical cooperation with Grenada in various fields for the benefits of the two nations and two peoples.
The ministers expressed their gratitude to the Chinese Government, and urged all the parties concerned from the two countries to work hard with concerted efforts for the smooth implementation of the project. They said that once the renovation project completed, it would surely improve the sports facilities and benefit the Grenadian people, the sport community and the youth, in particular. More than 50 representatives from all walks of life, including coaches, athletes, people from the community, overseas Chinese and Chinese enterprises, attended the event.
