On December 17, 2025, H.E. Yang Shu, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, Hon. David Andrew, Senator and Minister for Education of Grenada, jointly attended the Grenada 2025 Scholarship Awarding Ceremony held by the Ministry of Education at the St. George’s Trade Center. Nearly 200 people, including officials from the Ministry of Education, scholarship sponsors, scholarship recipients and representatives of their parents, attended the ceremony.

Ambassador Yang congratulated the recipients of the Grenada 2025 scholarship, especially those who received the Chinese Government Scholarship. He introduced the China-Grenada cooperation in areas such as education and capacity building since the resumption of bilateral relations, and reiterated the willingness to further strengthen the partnership and deepen cooperation between the two countries in various fields including human resources under the framework of the outcomes of Prime Minister Dickon Mitchel’s official visit to China earlier this year and the “Five Programs” of the China-LAC Community with a Shared Future.

Hon. Andrew thanked China for its long-term support of Grenada’s education sector and emphasized the significance of education to Grenada’s development. He hopes that the scholarship awardees who receive the scholarship can enhance their resilience and creativity, bring back good returns to Grenada and contribute to its bright future.
