On April 30, 2025, H.E. Wei Hongtian, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Grenada, paid a visit to Hon. Dickon Mitchell, Prime Minister of Grenada, and exchanged views on the development of bilateral relations, cooperation and issues of common concern.

Ambassador Wei introduced the progress of the practical cooperation ongoing between the two countries, such as the Airport Upgrading Project and the Cricket Stadium Renovation Project, etc., discussed the possibility of new cooperation in various fields, expressed the willingness to successfully complete these projects and advance the effective implementation of the outcomes of Prime Minister Mitchell’s visit to China earlier this year to benefit the two countries and their people.

Prime Minister Mitchell thanked China for its long-term assistance and support to Grenada and reaffirmed his commitment to further deepening relations and cooperation with China in various fields. 

The two sides also exchanged views on the upcoming Fourth China-CELAC Forum, the economic and development situation in the Caribbean region, the negative impact of the US tariff policy, etc., and reached broad consensus.
